Diljit Dosanjh gives peek into his day on sets of his 2nd collaboration with Imtiaz Ali

Mumbai, Dec 11 (LatestNewsX) – Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has rekindled his partnership with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and is sharing a behind‑the‑scenes look at a typical day while filming in Punjab.
On Thursday, the actor‑singer posted a video from a traditional haveli on his Instagram feed. He told fans that his day began at 4:30 am with a workout, followed by a breakfast of fruit and protein. After that, he headed out with his crew to shoot a few scenes in front of a green screen, swapping roles with Imtiaz Ali on set. The day wrapped when he returned to the haveli to regroup.
The undisclosed film marks their second collaboration after “Amar Singh Chamkila”, a biopic about the controversial 1980s Punjabi singer‑songwriter who was often called the “Elvis of Punjab”. The earlier project also featured Parineeti Chopra as Chamkila’s wife. Chamkila’s electrifying stage presence and socially charged lyrics left a lasting imprint on Punjabi culture; his life and untimely death—him and his spouse Amarjot were killed in 1988—remain a poignant chapter in the region’s history.
The film earned two International Emmy Awards nominations: one for Diljit’s performance and another for Best TV Movie/Miniseries. While they did not win the 53rd Emmys, the nods were a milestone for Indian and Punjabi storytelling on an international level, underscoring Chamkila’s enduring legacy and the growing global appetite for culturally rich content from India.
