In Hyderabad, Telangana, BJP leader N V Subhash fired strong criticism at the Congress party on Thursday for pushing its “Telangana Model” into Bihar and other states across India. Subhash, who recently stepped up as the party’s state chief spokesperson and media in-charge, dismissed the idea as a total flop.
Speaking at a press conference, Subhash accused Congress of trying to trick Bihar’s people after already letting down Telangana residents with empty promises. “Congress just wants to cheat again,” he said, labeling the Telangana Model as “F-3” – fake, failed, and fraud. He pointed fingers at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government for misleading folks with big talk but zero action on key issues.
Subhash didn’t hold back on both Congress and the rival BRS party, calling them out for winning power with flashy pledges only to drop the ball once in charge. He laughed off Congress’s recent Working Committee meeting, where leaders talked up copying the model nationwide. “They promise the moon but deliver nothing,” Subhash quipped.
The BJP spokesperson also slammed the state government over water woes, noting that Revanth Reddy hasn’t pushed back against Karnataka’s plans to raise the Almatti dam height – a move that could hurt Telangana farmers.
On reservations for Backward Classes (BCs), Subhash pressed Congress to cut through legal hurdles and deliver a full 42% quota without tying it to religion. He stressed that BJP stands firm on BC rights and even pledged to boost it to 45% if they take the reins in Telangana. “We won’t budge on this,” he added, urging media support to help BJP win big in the state.
In response, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted inspiration from the late Tamil Nadu leader M. Karunanidhi. “We’ve drawn from Kalaignar Karunanidhi’s vision to push 42% reservations for OBCs, plus 27% for SCs and STs – totaling 69% for these communities,” Reddy said.
