
Visakhapatnam, Nov 14 – Andhra Patnam claimed a major boost in two days of business talks. The state signed agreements worth about ₹11 92 crore (₹11 91 972 crore) with 400 firms, creating jobs for more than 1.3 million young people.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the deals and met with the heads of the companies. On Thursday, 41 MoUs were signed in his presence. The next day, the CII Partnership Summit drew an extra 324 agreements, totaling ₹8 42 crore (₹8 41 786 crore). Most of the contracts involve the Andhra Patnam Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) and touch on energy, food processing, industry, trade, IT and municipal work.
Naidu urged a private‑sector chairman to buy produce directly from local farmers and promised that a new shopping hub would also promote tourism in Visakhapatnam.
Later, the Singapore government signed a separate MoU with Andhra Patnam. Leaders from both sides – Naidu, Minister Nara Lokesh and Singapore’s Minister Gan Siow Huang – discussed urban and digital governance as well as sustainability. Naidu said the state is eager to learn from Singapore’s proven public‑policy model, while Lokesh described the partnership as a strong start. Union Minister R. K. Rammohan Naidu added that plans are underway to launch daily flights between Vijayawada and Singapore in the near future.
