Bryan Kohberger trying to cozy up to notorious serial killers while behind bars for quadruple murder

A new report says that Bryan Kohberger, who is serving multiple life terms for killing four students at the University of Idaho, is trying to make friends with other well‑known serial killers around the country. The 31‑year‑old, who celebrates his birthday in prison last month, has allegedly reached out to high‑profile inmates from his cell at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution in Kuna, according to Chris McDonough, a former homicide detective with the Cold Case Foundation. Fox News Digital reported the story.

McDonough told the outlet, using a trusted source, that “He’s tried reaching out to other serial killers, but I don’t know whether any relationships have formed.” He added that the inmate “sees himself above everyone around him.” “Both inside and outside — he’s trying to communicate with people outside the walls.” is what McDonough said.

The former Washington University graduate student’s latest tantrum follows his strange complaints about the bananas he receives in prison. “They’re not the kind that he likes,” McDonough told the Daily Mail in November. “I’m not sure if that means they may have bruises on them and he doesn’t like that or if there is a particular type of banana that he likes. You can’t make this stuff up, right? The guy is a quadruple killer and he’s complaining about his bananas not being the type that he likes.” According to McDonough, Kohberger has filed at least five formal complaints since arriving at the Idaho penitentiary, so the staff has largely ignored his latest grumble.

In July, Kohberger entered a surprise plea deal just weeks before his trial, admitting to fatally stabbing Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin on November 13, 2022, in their off‑campus home in Moscow. The agreement spared him from the death penalty but infuriated many of the victims’ families, who were left without an explanation for the brutal killings. He is currently serving four life sentences with no possibility of parole.
