PM Modi after India wins Asia Cup final

Prime Minister Narendra Modi cheered on Team India after their thrilling victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup final. In a tweet on September 28, 2025, Modi wrote: “#OperationSindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same – India wins! Congrats to our cricketers.” The message celebrated India’s dominance in the high-stakes cricket showdown.

India clinched their second T20I Asia Cup title—and ninth overall, counting ODI versions—with a tense five-wicket win chasing 147 runs in Dubai. Star performer Tilak Varma smashed an unbeaten 69 off 53 balls, including three fours and four sixes. His steady half-century partnerships with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube turned the game around, securing the trophy on Sunday.

This triumph capped a perfect run against Pakistan in the tournament. India started strong with a seven-wicket victory in the group stage, followed by a six-wicket win in the Super Four, and now the final glory. Fans couldn’t get enough of the India vs Pakistan rivalry heating up the Asia Cup 2025.

In the match, India captain won the toss and chose to bowl first. Pakistan got off to a solid start with an 84-run partnership between Sahidzada Farhan, who scored 57 off 38 balls (four fours, three sixes), and Fakhar Zaman’s 46 off 35 (two fours, two sixes). But India’s spinners stole the show in the middle overs. Kuldeep Yadav grabbed 4 wickets for 30 runs, Varun Chakravarthy took 2 for 30, and Jasprit Bumrah sealed it with 2 for 25. Pakistan crumbled from 113/1 to 146 all out in just 19.1 overs.

The run chase tested India’s nerves early. Pakistan’s Faheem Ashraf struck with 3 wickets for 29 runs, reducing India to 20/3. But Tilak Varma stepped up, partnering with Sanju Samson for 57 runs—Samson made 24 off 21 balls (two fours, one six). Then Shivam Dube joined the fun, blasting 33 off 22 (two fours, two sixes) to push India closer. In his Asia Cup debut, Rinku Singh sealed the deal by hitting the winning runs on the first ball he faced. What a way to end the Asia Cup final!
