Mahagathbandhan lacks policies, leadership, and intention: Tarun Chugh on Bihar seat-sharing confusion

After the Bihar election schedule was announced, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh spoke out on Wednesday about the confusion over seat‑sharing inside the Mahagathbandhan. He warned that the alliance “lacks clear policies, leadership, and intention,” and urged voters to choose between what he described as nepotism and real development.
Bihar election tensions
Chugh said Rahul Gandhi’s politics depend on “borrowed crutches,” noting that even in Bihar he “hides behind” Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav to claim seats. “The Congress’s self‑styled princes never take any election or issue seriously,” he added. “Bihar voters will not accept such irresponsible leaders.” He contrasted this with the NDA’s record, claiming the national government has opened a new chapter of development and trust in the state. “The people of Bihar will now have a clear choice between nepotism and development,” he told , predicting a strong vote for the NDA.
West Bengal situation
Chugh also addressed a recent incident in West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met BJP MP Khagen Murmu after he was injured in a mob attack in Nagrakata, North Bengal. “Mamata’s version of ‘democracy’ has turned into attacks on opponents, terror, and appeasement,” Chugh said. He called the assault on the tribal MP and BJP leaders an insult to Bengal’s citizens and warned that voters would respond decisively in the upcoming elections. “BJP workers and the public are committed to building true democracy in Bengal, freeing it from dictatorship, infiltration, and vote‑bank politics,” he added.
Condolences
The BJP also expressed condolences for the passing of Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda, who died at 35 after a brief illness at Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Chugh praised Jawanda’s influence on Punjabi music and worldwide audiences, saying the loss is “irreparable” and pledging support for Punjab’s artistic community.
The comments highlight the growing divide between the ruling NDA and opposition forces as Bihar’s electoral calendar heats up. The BJP’s message is clear: voters should opt for proven development over political theatrics.
