Country now in full-fledged ‘Reform Express’ phase, says PM Modi at NDA parliamentary party meet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the National Democratic Alliance’s parliamentary party leaders on Tuesday, announcing that India has entered what he called a true “Reform Express” stage. According to the PM, this phase is defined by swift, purposeful changes that put citizens at the heart of government action.

He emphasized that these reforms go beyond simply boosting economic growth or increasing tax receipts. The aim is to make everyday life easier for ordinary people, helping them unlock their full potential. “Our goal is to remove everyday hurdles faced by citizens so they can realise their full potential,” Modi said, urging MPs to forward on-the‑ground concerns they hear from the public so the administration can respond quickly.

The Prime Minister underlined the commitment to eliminate bureaucratic red tape that weighs on the population, such as tedious application forms and repetitive paperwork. He added that the government wants to build a system where services reach people at their doorstep, removing the need to resubmit the same information to multiple departments.

Revisiting the decision to introduce self‑certification for many services and schemes, Modi pointed out that this move is rooted in the trust the government places in citizens—a trust that has remained strong over the past decade and has not been seriously abused.

He stressed that the dual goals of “Ease of Life” and “Ease of Doing Business” are central to the government’s agenda. The ongoing reforms are meant to make governance faster, simpler, and more transparent, ensuring that benefits reach every household efficiently.

Earlier in the day, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju noted that all NDA MPs praised Modi for the historic victory in the Bihar Assembly elections. Speaking to the media after that parliamentary party meeting, Rijiju said the Prime Minister was “felicitated with a victory garland” and congratulated for the splendid win. He also mentioned that Modi offered guidance on how to work effectively for the state and region.
