Delhi Police say Chaitanyananda Saraswati, the man facing sexual harassment charges, shows no regret for his actions and refuses to cooperate during questioning. Officers revealed this update on Tuesday, as they dig deeper into the case at Vasant Kunj North Police Station in New Delhi.
The accused keeps dodging questions, police say. He only opens up when they hit him with hard evidence or turn up the pressure in interrogations. To push things forward, cops have brought in two of his female associates for questioning. These women joined the session on Monday and returned Tuesday to face him directly.
Investigators found troubling chats on Saraswati’s phone. In these messages, he appears to manipulate and entice women, according to police. They also recovered screenshots of profile pictures and several photos showing him with air hostesses.
Saraswati’s lack of cooperation stands out—he’s lying repeatedly and stays evasive, police added. On top of the sexual harassment probe, they’re looking into allegations of fraud tied to him.
The case kicked off earlier when a complaint hit Vasant Kunj North Police Station. It accuses Saraswati of repeated sexual harassment and misconduct. The FIR points out that Sri Sharada Peetham in Sringeri revoked his Powers of Attorney from 2008 and cut all ties with him.
Trouble surfaced through tips to the Peetham on July 28 and August 1, 2025. A student and an Air Force officer raised red flags about sexual atrocities by Saraswati. That led to a virtual meeting on August 3 with over 30 women students. They shared stories of harassment and trauma, including pressure on those from low-income families to visit his quarters at night.
The complaint details lewd WhatsApp and SMS messages, plus threats to block degrees and documents if victims didn’t comply. Police also uncovered claims of hidden surveillance cameras in the women’s hostel, installed under the guise of safety. Associates close to Saraswati allegedly forced students to give in and ignored their pleas for help.
Delhi Police continue their investigation into these serious sexual harassment and fraud allegations against Chaitanyananda Saraswati.
