Another grainy image of ‘person of interest’ in Brown University mass shooting shows stocky man in mask, carrying sling bag
On Tuesday, a new, low‑resolution photo of the “person of interest” connected to the Brown University shooting was made public, as authorities continue to track the gunman who killed two students.
The image shows a close‑up of a stocky man in dark clothing, wearing a black beanie and a large sling bag across his chest, with a black mask covering most of his face—a look that matches the descriptions already released by Providence police and the FBI earlier this week.
Providence Police re‑issued the photo, noting that the suspect’s face remains largely obscured by the mask but that the overall appearance confirms the earlier images.
Latest update on the mass shooting at Brown University
The hunt for the shooter, who is responsible for two deaths and nine injuries inside a campus building, has now stretched to three days.
While law enforcement briefly had a person of interest in custody, that individual was later released and officials said the investigation is moving in a different direction.
Providence police announced that additional media will be released on Tuesday ahead of a 5 p.m. press briefing.
