Angry over long-pending exam results, Jharkhand aspirants launch ‘satyagraha’ outside JPSC office
In Ranchi, thousands of job‑hopefuls showed up at the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) building on Monday, demanding that the agency finally release exam results that have been stalled for more than a year. The crowd staged a peaceful protest, calling it a “satyagraha” to press the commission to act.
The candidates are waiting for results of the 2024 exams for key posts such as Food Safety Officer and Child Development Project Officer (CDPO). “We have been in limbo since last year,” said one protester. “The exam calendar has collapsed. We need a clear answer now.”
Despite many appeals, JPSC has yet to publish the scores or give an official date. The commission’s staff met the demonstrators in the afternoon and promised that results would be out “soon,” but no written commitment or deadline was issued. “We will not stop protesting until we see a formal announcement,” said another hopeful.
Candidates say the delay is hurting their future prospects. With age limits tightening for many categories, they fear missing new recruitment windows because of the uncertainty. Some have claimed that answer sheets were already graded and there are no technical problems. “If they are finished, why can’t the results be released?” one student asked.
The march was orderly, and participants chanted slogans like “Results Do, JPSC!” and “Declare Our Future!” They pledged to continue the satyagraha until a fixed result‑release date is disclosed.
