New Delhi, India – The RR Kabel Prime Volleyball League kicked off its highly anticipated fourth season on Wednesday with an exciting pre-season press conference. Fans of Indian volleyball are buzzing about what’s ahead.
Key figures joined the event, including Tuhin Mishra, co-founder and managing director of Baseline Ventures, Joy Bhattacharjya, CEO of the Prime Volleyball League, representatives from title sponsor RR Kabel, and the captains of all 10 franchises.
The action starts strong on October 2, pitting two fierce rivals against each other: the Calicut Heroes, led by experienced captain Mohan Ukkrapandian, and the Hyderabad Black Hawks, guided by Brazilian star Paulo Lamounier. This opening clash in the volleyball league promises high energy and intense competition right from the start.
Mohan Ukkrapandian shared his team’s mindset, saying, “We have a powerful, balanced squad, and our pre-season focus has been on mental toughness and strategic execution. Starting against the Black Hawks is the ultimate test—it’s a rivalry that sets the tone for the entire league, and we’re ready to dominate the court and make a decisive statement.”
Paulo Lamounier echoed the excitement, adding, “It’s a massive privilege to lead the Hyderabad Black Hawks. We’ve worked hard on our tactical approach this year, and our players are hungry for success. Opening night is our chance to show everyone our intent, especially playing in front of our home crowd.
