‘Vibrant Gujarat, Vibrant Patan’ Summit: Rs 43-crore MoUs signed, boost to local industry

In Patan, North Gujarat, local business leaders just inked deals worth Rs 43 crore with the Gujarat government during the ‘Vibrant Gujarat, Vibrant Patan’ Summit. This Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference event promises to create over 500 new jobs and sets the stage for the big Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027.

The summit gathered entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and top policymakers at the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University Convention Hall. Minister of State Jagdish Vishwakarma joined the crowd to kick things off.

Experts led sessions on key Gujarat government initiatives, including the Single Window Clearance Act for easier business approvals, MSME policies, Atmanirbhar Gujarat Yojana 2022 for self-reliance, Gujarat Textile Policy 2019, ZED certification for quality standards, and the PM Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme. They also shared tips on banking, finance options, and selling through the government e-marketplace.

Vishwakarma told the audience that Gujarat has changed dramatically since the first Vibrant Gujarat Summit in 2003. “The state now drives India’s growth and draws global investments,” he said. He highlighted GST reforms and efforts under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to build a self-reliant Gujarat economy.

North Gujarat plays a big role in exports, contributing $3.3 billion overall, with Patan adding $22.96 million. The minister stressed protecting local traditions like Patola weaving, which has gone global thanks to the “Mind to Market” program.

The event included a lively exhibition of MSME products, handicrafts, handlooms, terracotta art, patchwork, Patola textiles, organic and millet-based foods, Ayurvedic medicines, natural farming goods, and GI-tagged crafts.

District leaders like Collector Tushar Bhatt and District Development Officer C.L. Patel attended, along with reps from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation, industrial groups, women’s organizations, and farmer-producer groups.

Mamta Verma, Principal Secretary of Industries and District In-charge Secretary, called it a milestone. “This is the first time the summit reached the district level, letting each region shine with its unique identity and potential,” she said.

Overall, the ‘Vibrant Gujarat, Vibrant Patan’ Summit spotlights local entrepreneurship, boosting exports and jobs to keep Gujarat leading India’s economic rise.
