Flood-hit farmers in Delhi to get compensation soon: CM Rekha Gupta

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Announces Relief for Farmers Hit by Rain and Flood Damage

In a big relief for farmers in Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared some good news on Tuesday. Her government is gearing up to provide compensation to those whose crops suffered due to recent rains and floods. This comes as a much-needed boost for the farming community facing tough times.

Speaking to reporters, CM Gupta assured, "We won’t leave farmers in the lurch. Our team is working round the clock to help everyone affected by the floods get back on their feet." Her words offer hope amid the challenges, especially after the Delhi Congress demanded Rs 1 lakh per acre as compensation for crop damage caused by heavy rainfall.

CM Gupta also praised the tireless work of the administration in handling rain and flood relief efforts. "We’ve done a lot, but we need to step up even more," she said. "Our aim is to resettle all victims in their homes as quickly as possible." This focus on speedy flood relief in Delhi shows the government’s commitment to public welfare.

Earlier, the Chief Minister revealed plans to roll out annual awards for outstanding government officials. These honors will recognize top performers in categories like Best Engineer, Best Department, Best SDM, and Best DM, boosting team spirit across departments.

She highlighted the united efforts to transform Delhi into a prosperous capital. "We’re all in this together," CM Gupta said, emphasizing how such recognitions will motivate officials to excel.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she mentioned a detailed review meeting at the Delhi Secretariat. It involved District Magistrates (DMs), Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), Sub-Registrars, and Revenue Department officials. They discussed key development works and public welfare issues.

CM Gupta commended the officials for their dedication during events like the Kanwar Yatra and emergencies such as heavy rainfall and rising Yamuna water levels. "Our team has served Delhi’s people non-stop, keeping the city safe and strong," she noted. This highlights the effective management of Yamuna flood situations and rain-related crises.

Looking ahead, she set the next big goal: ensuring smooth and dignified celebrations for festivals like Ramlila and Durga Puja. "We’ve given clear instructions for constant monitoring of every detail," the Chief Minister added. She stressed that no disruptions should happen, and transparency must top the priority list in all tasks.

With these steps, Delhi’s government aims to tackle both immediate relief needs and long-term development, keeping the city’s residents at the heart of every decision.
