Panic at Patna Sahib: Bomb Threat Email Sparks Massive Search at Historic Gurdwara
Hey folks, imagine the chaos at one of Sikhism’s holiest sites—Patna Sahib in Bihar—when a scary email threatened to blow it up. This happened at Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Gurdwara, also known as Patna Sahib, where the management committee got a chilling message from an unknown sender. They claimed to have hidden four RDX explosives in different spots inside the premises. Talk about a heart-stopping moment!
Gurdwara officials didn’t waste a second. They quickly called the Patna district police, who jumped into action with a full-blown search operation. Parichay Kumar, the Superintendent of Police (East) in Patna, confirmed the whole thing. He said the threatening email arrived on Monday, and right away, teams hit the ground running.
Police brought in dog squads, bomb detection units, and forensic experts to comb every corner. They even checked CCTV footage from inside the gurdwara and nearby areas. After hours of intense searching, guess what? Not a single suspicious item turned up. Phew! The bomb threat at Patna Sahib turned out to be a hoax, but authorities aren’t taking it lightly.
Still, officials told the gurdwara management to stay on high alert and keep a closer eye on visitors. Patna Police filed an FIR at Chauk Police Station after the committee lodged a written complaint. Now, the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police, experts in cybercrimes, has stepped in to trace the email’s IP address and hunt down the sender. A senior officer shared, "We’re treating this seriously, even if it’s fake. Our cyber team is digging into digital clues, and we’ve added more security forces around the site."
For those who might not know, Patna Sahib holds a special place in Sikh history. It’s one of the five Takhts in Sikhism and sits on Ashok Rajpath in Patna. This sacred spot marks the birthplace of the 10th Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Every year, lakhs of devotees flock here from around the world, making it a major pilgrimage center. The area buzzes with hotels, rest houses, dharamshalas, and lodges to host all these pilgrims.
This incident has everyone worried about security at Patna Sahib Gurdwara and the safety of thousands of visitors nearby. In today’s world, threats like this remind us how important it is to stay vigilant at religious sites. We’ll keep you updated as the investigation unfolds—stay safe out there!
