3 people arrested after 7 Providence College students overdose at off-campus party

Three arrests were made in connection with a drug‑related incident outside Providence College. Police say the suspects supplied drugs to a group of seven students who subsequently overdosed during a party held on Liege Street last week.

When officers arrived, they found four students collapsed in the front yard of a nearby residence. Medical teams administered Narcan to all seven victims, who were then taken to a hospital where they were reported conscious and alert.

An investigation led police to a house on Hawkins Street, where they seized roughly 20 grams of fentanyl, $1,700 in cash, two rifles and three handguns—including a so‑called “ghost gun.”

The trio arrested—Angel Williams (33), Patrick Patterson (32), and Kimsheree Simoneau (33)—are not Providence College students. Williams and Patterson face a mix of drug and firearms charges, while Simoneau is charged with possession of the ghost gun. Williams and Patterson are being held without bail; Simoneau was granted release on a $10,000 bond.

Providence Police highlighted that the operation was the result of a joint effort between the Narcotics and Organized Crime Bureaus. Col. Oscar Perez stated that the department remains committed to curbing the dangerous influx of fentanyl and illegal weapons into the community. He praised the coordinated response that removed hazardous drugs and weapons from the streets of Providence.

The college announced it will conduct its own investigation into the incident. A spokesperson thanked the City’s first responders and the college’s public safety team for the lifesaving care provided to the students.
