BJP govt pushing all-out efforts to ensure doorstep delivery of services: Tripura CM Saha

Tripura CM Manik Saha Boosts Infrastructure with Rs 800 Crore Projects

In a big push for Tripura’s growth, Chief Minister Manik Saha shared exciting updates on Monday. His government has kicked off and laid the foundation for projects worth a whopping Rs 800 crore in recent months. The focus? Building strong infrastructure to transform the state.

At an event in Agartala, CM Saha inaugurated 14 projects and laid the foundation for 5 more under the Social Welfare and Social Education Department. He emphasized that the BJP government is going all out to bring services right to people’s doorsteps. "We’re ensuring no one gets left behind," he said, highlighting efforts to reach the last person in society.

Tripura’s development drive doesn’t stop there. In the 2025-26 budget, the state has set aside Rs 7,000 crore for various infrastructure projects. CM Saha stressed that without solid roads, buildings, and facilities, the state can’t move forward. "Infrastructure is key to progress," he added.

Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, Tripura released its own ‘Viksit Tripura-2047 Vision Document’ on August 22. This roadmap charts the state’s path to development by 2047. Interestingly, Tripura is the fifth state in India and the first in the Northeast to launch such a plan. CM Saha called ‘Atmanirbhar Tripura’ the government’s main mantra, inspired by the national ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission. As PM Modi puts it, this isn’t just a program—it’s a people’s movement.

The state is also embracing the ‘Vocal for Local’ strategy. That means prioritizing local products for purchases and promotions to boost the economy from within. On infrastructure, CM Saha reiterated that it’s the top priority. "Without it, daily life will get tougher in the future," he warned.

The BJP government is committed to all-round development, especially for women and children. In a major announcement, CM Saha revealed plans to build 10 new working women’s hostels across Tripura, on top of the existing ones. The state has sanctioned Rs 114 crore for this, with Rs 11.40 crore allocated per hostel. Each will have 100 seats and come loaded with modern facilities to support working women.

CM Saha also highlighted support for differently-abled people, or ‘divyang’ as they’re called. The Social Welfare and Social Education (SWSE) Department has issued disability identity cards to 41,694 such individuals, helping them access schemes and benefits. Plus, over 14,575 divyang people now receive a monthly social allowance of Rs 2,000.

These steps show Tripura’s dedication to inclusive growth, making the state more self-reliant and developed. With initiatives like Viksit Tripura 2047 and Atmanirbhar Tripura, the future looks bright for residents.
