Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco pulled off a hilarious surprise in Atlantic City, New Jersey, when he crashed a fan impersonator contest at the Ocean Casino Resort. The 52-year-old star even crowned a winner who looked so much like him that it was uncanny.
Maniscalco showed up at the resort’s Nola Bar to a buzzing crowd. “It’s very flattering,” he said before naming the victor. “I felt like I was looking in a mirror.” The contest featured eight fans channeling the Italian-American comic’s signature style, including one entrant named “Chelsea Spaghetti” who nailed his famous riffs.
After the fun, Maniscalco hit the stage at the massive Ovation Hall for his “It Ain’t Right” tour. His set dove into everyday laughs about parenting and hitting middle age. He cracked up the audience with a story about his six-year-old son’s soccer game. “I went without a chair or anything,” he shared. “But everyone else brings a whole campsite—blankets, umbrellas, Thermoses. What the hell are you doing?”
He also shared a gem from a family trip to Universal Studios. “I go up to buy tickets, and the guy asks how tall my son is,” Maniscalco recounted. “This tall, guy—you’re looking right at him. I didn’t measure him with a stick before we came. We barely got his socks on. What is this? Two feet? You got anything for two-footers?”
The night had a brief hiccup during opening act by fellow comic Pete Correale, who had judged the impersonator contest earlier. A medical emergency paused the show—lights came on as Correale called for any doctors in the crowd. It turned out to be dehydration, and the person was fine.
Once things resumed, Correale lightened the mood with a quip: “It’s a live show—this is why AI will never replace live entertainment.” Maniscalco chimed in too, joking, “I heard we stopped the show. I hope they’re OK. I don’t know if it was medical or somebody threw up on themselves. Somebody could be drunk already.”
Maniscalco, who brought his mom along for the gig, plans to return to the Ocean Casino Resort from September 25 to 28 for more shows.
The hotel went all out for the comedian, turning his visit into a full-blown event. They unveiled a giant billboard, set up spots with cannolis and Italian eats in his honor, and scattered life-sized cutouts of Maniscalco around the property. One tipsy casino guest even swiped a cutout in the wee hours and hauled it back to his room.
The Ocean Casino Resort has been a hot spot lately. It recently hosted a big bash for Jay-Z and Michael Rubin’s Reform Alliance, drawing stars like Beyoncé, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Kevin Hart, Travis Scott, Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden, Jamie Foxx, Winnie Harlow, Odell Beckham Jr., Meek Mill, Robert Kraft, and Michael Novogratz.
