Seva Pakhwada: MP Satnam Sandhu participates in medical camp, says ‘country’s healthcare transformed under PM Modi’
India marks Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday with a special push called Seva Pakhwada, focusing on public welfare programs and blood donation drives to help everyday people.
In one standout event, a massive medical camp kicked off at Nehru Bhawan in Barari village, Nangal, Punjab. Rajya Sabha member Satnam Singh Sandhu led the effort, teaming up with the Indian Minorities Federation and NID Foundation.
The camp brought free consultations, medicines, and health check-ups to more than 5,000 people hit hard by recent floods. Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria joined as the chief guest, showing strong support for the initiative.
Doctors and paramedics on site checked patients for a range of illnesses and handed out free medicines. The team even ran no-cost tests for diseases like cancer. To top it off, a blood donation drive drew crowds eager to give back.
Sandhu shared photos of the action on social media, highlighting how hundreds jumped into the blood donations while others lined up for check-ups. “PM Modi’s life stands as a true example of service and commitment,” he posted. “Linking his birthday to community welfare efforts inspires every Indian.”
He went on to praise Modi’s 11 years in office for revolutionizing India’s healthcare system. Highlights include doubling the health budget to 200 percent, cutting GST on medicines, and making quality, affordable care available to all citizens. Sandhu called it a win from Modi’s forward-thinking leadership.
