Security Forces Strike Big in Jammu and Kashmir: Terror Sympathizers Arrested with AK-47s in Poonch
In a major breakthrough against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, police arrested three alleged terror sympathizers in Poonch district. Authorities recovered three AK-47 rifles and a huge stash of warlike stores during the operation. This news comes straight from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, who shared details on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.
The IGP highlighted how "dogged determination and relentless investigation" led to these arrests. In fact, the team seized a total of seven AK rifles—four from an earlier recovery—along with other ammunition and warlike materials. These actions show security forces’ strong push to dismantle terror networks in the region.
This isn’t the only recent win for the forces. Just days earlier, on Tuesday, they wrapped up Operation Gudder in Kulgam district. The operation ended with the elimination of two hardcore Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists. One was Rahman, a Pakistani national, and the other was Amir Ahmed Dar from Daramdora in Shopian.
During the encounter, security teams also recovered weapons, ammunition, and more warlike stores from the site. The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps confirmed the details on X, calling it a successful neutralization of top LeT militants.
These back-to-back operations highlight ongoing efforts to maintain peace in Jammu and Kashmir. As terror threats persist, such actions by police and army keep the region safer for everyone. Stay tuned for more updates on security operations in India.
