Demi Lovato announces release date of ninth album, ‘It’s Not That Deep’

Demi Lovato just dropped some exciting news for her fans! The pop star announced her ninth album, It’s Not That Deep, set to hit the shelves on October 24 through DLG Recordings and Island Records. If you’re a Demi Lovato music lover, this one’s all about fun and dance-pop vibes.

Lovato has been building hype with two fresh singles: "Fast" and "Here All Night." The album features 11 tracks and boasts executive production by Zhone. In a statement shared with Variety, Demi explained what inspired this project. "This music perfectly reflects where I’m at today," she said. "I had an incredible time making this album with Zhone—it was so freeing to let loose and just have fun."

She opened up about the shift in her songwriting too. "In my past albums, I wrote cathartic songs about heavy topics I needed to process," Lovato shared. "But this time in the studio, those didn’t resonate anymore. I’m happy, I’m in love, and I just want to enjoy life. I realized it’s not that deep anymore, and that became the whole vibe for the album. It’s Not That Deep is made for late nights and dancefloors—I can’t wait for you all to dance with me!"

Demi Lovato shared the big reveal on her Instagram on Monday, giving fans a sneak peek into her new dance-pop era.

"Fast," the lead single from Demi Lovato’s ninth album, dropped a month ago and packs a punch with its bold music video. In it, Lovato struts confidently past burning cars, belting out the catchy chorus: "I wanna go fast / I wanna go hard / I wanna go anywhere, anywhere you are." This track signals her return to pop roots after diving into rock sounds on her previous release.

Speaking of which, Lovato’s last album, Holy Fvck, came out in 2022 and climbed to No. 7 on the Billboard 200. It was a rock-inspired hit that led to a massive 34-date tour with openers Dead Sara and Royal & the Serpent.

Beyond the music, Demi Lovato stays busy. She recently starred in the film Tow alongside Rose Byrne, Octavia Spencer, and Simon Rex—it premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in June. Looking ahead, she’s got a cookbook on the way: One Plate at a Time: Recipes for Finding Freedom With Food, releasing March 31, 2026. Fans, get ready—Demi’s serving up more than just hits!
