PM Modi provided clean administration after taking charge: Karnataka LoP R Ashoka

BJP Leader R Ashoka Praises PM Modi’s Clean Governance in Bengaluru Speech

In a lively address in Jayanagar’s bustling neighborhood, Karnataka’s Leader of Opposition R Ashoka didn’t hold back while praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking on Wednesday, Ashoka highlighted how Modi’s leadership has brought a breath of fresh air to Indian politics after years of what he called corrupt family rule under the previous UPA government.

"Congress runs on family ties—if you’re born into the right family, you straightaway become party president," Ashoka said with a sharp edge. He pointed fingers at the Manmohan Singh era, claiming it was riddled with scams and loot. But since Narendra Modi stepped in as Prime Minister in 2014, Ashoka stressed, India has seen clean administration that’s turning heads globally.

Ashoka is confident Modi will lead again, boosting India’s standing on the world stage. "Even powerhouses like China and America want to be friends with India now, all thanks to PM Modi’s strong leadership," he added. He also defended the BJP’s approach, noting the party doesn’t sideline leaders based on age—many veterans keep contributing, just like Modi should continue steering the nation.

The speech came amid a special 15-day nationwide drive called Seva Pakhwada, launched to celebrate PM Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is rolling out blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, and exhibitions across India to spotlight the central government’s key achievements. It’s a fitting tribute to Modi, who was born in 1950 and joined the RSS officially in 1971 after early exposure to the organization. He jumped into BJP politics in 1985, climbed to General Secretary by 1998, became Gujarat’s Chief Minister in 2001, and finally took oath as India’s Prime Minister in 2014.

But Ashoka didn’t spare the ruling Congress government in Karnataka. He accused them of playing favorites with MLA funds, leaving opposition areas high and dry. "In Bengaluru, they’re building fancy tunnel roads instead of fixing basic potholes. Traffic on ring roads is a nightmare, BMTC buses crawl like snails, and IT firms are eyeing Hyderabad and Chennai to escape the mess," he fumed. Under BJP’s rule, he claimed, even Congress MLAs got Rs 100 crore grants for their constituencies—now, there’s zero support.

Turning to the hot-button caste census issue, Ashoka slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s administration for stirring divisions. "This survey is a waste of money and time—postpone it, especially with festivals around the corner," he urged. He warned of a deepening economic slump, slow crop loss compensation, and a sneaky plot to split communities. "Siddaramaiah is inventing new castes and pitting them against each other. Kanakadasa preached unity, not fights. They’ve already tried dividing Veerashaiva Lingayats, and now even Hindu castes are creeping into Christian groups. Keep this up, and Congress will tear itself apart," Ashoka cautioned.

The event underscores the ongoing political tug-of-war in Karnataka, with BJP leaders like Ashoka pushing back hard against the state government’s policies while rallying support for Modi’s vision.
