Excitement built on the final day of the pool stage at the 5th Hockey India Senior Women Inter-Department National Championship 2025 in New Delhi’s Shivaji Stadium. Teams like Sahastra Seema Bal and Central Reserve Police Force delivered standout wins, setting up an action-packed semi-final lineup.
In Pool C, Sahastra Seema Bal crushed UCO Bank Women’s Hockey Academy 10-2 in a dominant display. Manisha lit up the game with a hat-trick in the 29th, 41st, and 47th minutes, while teammate Roshni Dungdung added a brace at the 39th and 56th. Priti Singh (21st), Preeti (23rd), Sonia (25th), Ranjita Minj (56th), and Mukta Mundu (57th) each chipped in a goal to seal the victory. UCO fought back with goals from Kirti (30th) and captain Ankita Dahiya (52nd), but it wasn’t enough.
Pool A saw a tense battle as Tamil Nadu Police and Central Secretariat ended in a 2-2 draw. Tamil Nadu Police struck twice in the eighth minute through Poonkodi and Nandhini T to grab an early lead. Central Secretariat’s captain Hritika Singh responded with a brace in the 10th and 38th minutes, earning a hard-fought tie and keeping both teams in the women’s hockey mix.
Over in Pool B, the Central Reserve Police Force shut out Sports Authority of Gujarat – Hockey Academy 9-0 for a commanding win. Sushma Kumari stole the show with four goals in the 16th, 19th, 23rd, and 45th minutes. Pinki Ekka netted two in the 32nd and 50th, while Etwari Mundu (20th), Manju Pyari Topno (27th), and Puja Yadav (59th) rounded out the scoring to highlight CRPF’s strong form in the championship.
The other matchup went Union Bank of India’s way by default, as Services Sports Control Board forfeited, handing them a 5-0 victory.
Now, all eyes turn to the semi-finals on October 3, 2025. At 9:00 a.m., Railway Sports Promotion Board faces Sports Authority of India. Then, at 11:30 a.m., Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Women takes on Central Board of Direct Taxes in what promises to be thrilling women’s hockey action.
