Patna, Dec 4 (LatestNewsX) – During the fourth day of Bihar’s Winter assembly session, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha made a clear statement against the sand‑mining syndicates. He warned that those engaged in illegal extraction would face severe consequences as the state continues to crack down on unlawful sand mining.
Speaking in debates, he recounted the recent measures taken by the government and reaffirmed its resolve to eradicate illicit sand exploitation. “I want to remind those who crave sand that when massacres were happening over sand, you (RJD) were in power and I was in the Opposition,” he added.
Sinha referenced earlier clashes, citing an episode in Koilwar where almost 1,000 bullets were discharged over the contested sand, which sparked a three‑day uproar in the House back then. When RJD legislator Bhai Virendra raised an objection to his remarks, Sinha countered that no such violent flare‑up had occurred in the past year and that sand‑related revenue had surged by 117 percent statewide.
He noted that over‑exploitation has been curtailed, and a reward of Rs 10,000 is now offered for reporting violations. Strict actions by the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, he said, are forcing many sand‑mafias to abandon their holdings and flee the state.
“We will not let them escape. Their security deposits will also be confiscated. The land mafia and sand mafia are now in trouble in Bihar,” the Deputy Chief Minister declared.
When Bhai Virendra interrupted again, Sinha responded, “These are the people who have spread anarchy in Bihar. I have pledged to free Bihar from those who thrived during the jungle raj.”
He went on to warn, “Very soon, we will expose those who protect and collude with the sand mafia, land mafia, and liquor mafia. We will not make noise — we will work on the ground and run bulldozers on their chests so they learn a lesson.”
Despite ongoing opposition protests, Deputy CM Sinha reassured that honest workers would have nothing to fear.
