Veteran actor Anupam Kher celebrated 75 years for famed Bollywood designer Madhav Agasti. Kher met with the creator of many 1980s‑90s Bollywood wardrobes and sent a heartfelt video to social media. In the clip, he talked about Agasti’s work on his Dr. Michael Dang costume from the 1986 film Karma, and even showed the classic Mogambo jacket worn by Amrish Puri in Mr. India.
On Instagram, Kher wished the celebrated designer a happy birthday, calling him one of the first costume designers who shaped his film career. “Thank you, Madhav Ji, for your contribution to my success story,” the actor wrote, adding emojis, a red heart, and a flower to express gratitude.
Kher highlighted how Agasti delivered the iconic suits of the late eighties and early nineties, including the unforgettable Dr. Dang outfit. “I’m glad to be at this event celebrating his life,” Kher added. He also reminded fans that Karma was the highest‑grossing Indian film of 1986 and that it reunited director Subhash Ghai with legendary actor Dilip Kumar after the success of Vidhaata.
Fans of Bollywood fashion and cinema history will love seeing the behind‑the‑scenes moment between Anupam Kher and Madhav Agasti, a pair who have left a lasting imprint on Indian film wardrobes.
