
In Shenzhen, India’s Diksha Dagar opened the China Championship with a solid 72, one stroke under par, and finished the day tied for 42nd. She remains the best‑placed Indian player after the opening round.
Dagar’s front‑nine start saw four birdies and three bogeys. She gained on the sixth, seventh, 11th and 13th holes, but dropped shots on the second, 10th and 12th.
Pranavi Urs matched an even‑par 73 and tied for 57th. She began with three consecutive birdies on the first three holes, but a bogey in the sixth and later a double bogey on the eighteenth brought her back to par.
Other Indians—Tvesa Malik and Avani Prashanth—finished with identical rounds of 74, one over par, sharing 75th place.
Leading the leaderboard, Sweden’s Moä Folke shot a flawless 67, six under par, to take a one‑stroke lead. She went bogey‑free, including four birdies and an eagle. England’s Alice Hewson, Thailand’s Aunchisa Utama and Germany’s Laura Fuenfstueck trailed in a three‑way tie at 68, five under par.
Singapore’s Shannon Tan, the Order of Merit leader, recorded an even‑par 73 and also tied for 57th. Her round contained three birdies and three bogeys.
The China Championship’s first day set the stage for a tight competition among world‑class women golfers.
