Man has pants set on fire on Times Square subway platform: cops

Police reported that a 65‑year‑old man sustained serious leg burns when his pants caught fire on a Times Square subway platform early Monday. Authorities discovered him at the 42nd Street station just after 3 a.m., following a 911 call about an assault. Investigators are still trying to determine whether someone attacked the man or if he inadvertently set himself on fire. He received first aid on the platform of the northbound 1, 2, 3 train before being transported to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he remains in stable condition. No one has been arrested yet.
