Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP’s Virendraa Sachdeva pay tribute to Deendayal Upadhyaya on 109th birth anniversary

In New Delhi, India, top BJP leaders including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva gathered on Thursday to honor Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his 109th birth anniversary. They paid floral tributes to the iconic thinker and Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader, who remains a guiding force for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted Upadhyaya’s lasting impact during the event. “This is the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, a true source of inspiration for all of us,” Pradhan said. He explained how Upadhyaya envisioned India’s path after independence, focusing on its economic, social, and education systems. Pradhan added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi follows these principles closely, promoting ideas like “sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas, and sabka prayaas” – meaning support for all, development for all, trust for all, and efforts from all.

Virendra Sachdeva echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Antyodaya, which aims to uplift the most marginalized in society. “Today, the entire country pays homage to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya,” Sachdeva shared. “Development won’t happen until government schemes reach the person at the last rung of society.” He praised Modi’s initiatives as rooted in Upadhyaya’s life philosophy and offered his floral tribute in respect.

Born in 1916 and passing away in 1968, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was a key figure in Indian politics as a thinker, economist, and organizer. He led the Bharatiya Jana Sangh from 1953 until his death and introduced Integral Humanism, or Ekatma Manav Darshan, as an alternative to Western ideologies. This approach stresses balanced growth, social justice, and self-reliance, shaping the BJP’s governance model since the party’s founding.

Upadhyaya also launched influential publications like the monthly Rashtra Dharma, weekly Panchajanya, and daily Swadesh. He became Jana Sangh president in December 1967 and set examples of integrity in public life. Today, his ideas on integral humanism continue to inspire the BJP’s commitment to national service. The 109th birth anniversary served as a reminder of his enduring legacy in Indian politics. ()
