University of Delaware student arrested with car full of guns, plans to carry out mass shooting — and chilling note about ‘martyrdom’
On November 24, 2025, 25‑year‑old Luqmaan Khan, a University of Delaware student, was taken into custody by New Castle County Police after officers discovered a sizable cache of firearms, body armor, and ammunition in his vehicle. The car, parked in Canby Park West, also contained a handgun, multiple extended magazines, and a conversion kit capable of turning the pistol into a semi‑automatic rifle. On his way back from class, Khan allegedly carried a manifesto wherein he stated “kill all” in pursuit of “martyrdom” and outlined plans to launch a mass shooting against the campus police. Officers found his vehicle and, upon noticing Khan’s nervous demeanor, conducted a thorough search that yielded the weapons and a handwritten notebook filled with terroristic schemes. “Rather than just telling him the park was closed, they performed proper police work,” said Master Cpl. Richard Chambers.
