Arvind Kejriwal, the top leader of India’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), opened his party’s first state office in Mayem, Goa, on Saturday. The move came during a three‑day tour of the state, where Kejriwal, joined by Goa in‑charge Atishi and local party officials, urged Goans to switch their vote away from the long‑time BJP‑Congress partnership.
Kejriwal told crowds that many Goans love the BJP but feel let down by broken roads, crumbling schools and hospitals, and rising crime. He blasted a small group of families linked to both the BJP and Congress for “robbing” Goa of its resources over the past few decades. The chief of AAP promised that his party would guarantee land‑ownership rights for all citizens—something the BJP failed to deliver.
During the opening ceremony, parties and local leaders such as state president Amit Palekar, MLA Venzy Viegas, and National Spokesperson Valmiki Naik were present. Kejriwal emphasized how ordinary people struggle with basic paperwork: ration cards, Aadhaar, voter ID, caste certificates, and income proofs. “We’ll handle your paperwork without bribes,” he assured. He also announced that AAP will help residents learn about and apply for welfare schemes like Griha Laxmi Yojana.
In a fresh initiative, Kejriwal said AAP will launch a free‑care clinic in Mayem within two weeks. The party’s goal is clear: give Goans an alternative that puts public service first, frees them from red‑tape and corruption, and restores trust in the government.
