A 60‑year‑old teacher from the Bronx, Kiho Kim, was taken into custody Monday after police said he struck a 16‑year‑old male student’s buttocks. Kim, who works at the Bronx Design and Construction Academy on East 151st Street, was charged with sexual abuse and forcible touching in connection with the incident.
The school’s public‑school spokesperson confirmed that Kim has been removed from the campus for the “unacceptable” behavior and that the district will move to terminate his employment if he is found guilty. He remains on the faculty roster but is suspended until the matter is resolved.
He is scheduled to appear for arraignment at Bronx Criminal Court later Tuesday.
