Youth Power Up: Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue Set for Bigger 2026 Edition
Imagine a platform where young Indians aged 15-29 can share bold ideas for a developed India, straight from the Prime Minister’s ears. That’s exactly what the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) brings to the table. Inspired by PM Narendra Modi’s call on Independence Day to get one lakh youth into politics—regardless of their background—this event reimagined the old National Youth Festival into something fresh and dynamic.
The first edition in 2025 broke a 25-year tradition, creating a national stage for youth leadership. Over 30 lakh young people joined the Viksit Bharat Challenge across India. They submitted more than two lakh essays and competed in state championships, with 9,000 showcasing their visions. The excitement peaked at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, where 3,000 young changemakers gathered. This included 1,500 from the challenge track, 1,000 from cultural activities, and 500 pathbreakers—youth icons from diverse fields like sports, business, and innovation.
What made it unforgettable? PM Modi spent nearly six hours chatting with the youth, listening to their ideas for Viksit Bharat, and urging them to step up as leaders. Big names joined in too, sharing their wisdom: Amitabh Kant, former ISRO chief Dr. S. Somanath, business tycoon Anand Mahindra, OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal, ex-cricketer Jonty Rhodes, and journalist Palki Sharma Upadhyay. Their insights fired up the crowd, turning talks into real inspiration for India’s future.
Now, get ready for VBYLD 2026—it’s aiming even higher! The second edition promises more registrations, new tracks, wider reach, and bolder goals. Officials announced it at a press conference on September 13, 2025, at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, along with Secretary Pallavi Jain Govil and Joint Secretary, shared the exciting details.
Mandaviya called VBYLD a game-changer for youth-led democracy. "This is where young Indians turn their visions into voices and voices into real impact," he said. He emphasized that it’s not just an event—it’s a year-round platform that taps into youth potential to build a blueprint for Aatmanirbhar Bharat. "Youth aren’t just the future; they’re the nation-builders right now," he added, stressing how it drives innovation, strengthens communities, and nurtures leaders.
Govil broke down the 2026 roadmap. It kicks off with an online quiz and essay challenge, moves to state-level presentations, and ends with a grand national round in Delhi—tying into the National Youth Festival in January 2026. New tracks will add even more ways for participants to shine.
If you’re a young Indian with ideas for Viksit Bharat, this is your chance to lead the change. Stay tuned for registration details and join the movement shaping India’s tomorrow!
