Censor Board clears Nivin Pauly’s horror comedy ‘Sarvam Maya’ for release with ‘U’ certificate
Chennai, Dec 12 (LatestNewsX) – The Central Board of Film Certification has now given the green light to director Akhil Sathyan’s long‑anticipated horror‑comedy, Sarvam Maya, awarding it a clean “U” certificate, which authorises it for general audiences.
On his X timeline, Nivin Pauly quipped, “Sarvam Clean..!!!! Sarvam Maya in theatres from 25th December,” and posted the official poster confirming the U rating.
The film’s shoot wrapped last month, and the recently released teaser has sparked even more enthusiasm among fans. The glimpse shows Pauly rigorously checking every corner of a traditional house on a storm‑thickened night, ensuring there’s nobody lurking in the shadows, while he also shares a light‑hearted moment with Aju Varghese in a sunny morning scene.
Nivin Pauly heads the cast of this Christmas‑era horror‑comedy, supported by Priety Mukundhan—who impressed in the pan‑Indian hit Kannappa—and Aju Varghese in a key role. The movie’s production had already logged about thirty days of shooting in Kerala’s Ernakulam and Palakkad, according to sources.
Akhil Sathyan, son of legendary filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad, has a strong track record with critical praise for films like Paachuvum Albhuthavilakkum. Justin Prabhakaran composes the score, Rajeevan handles art direction, and Sharan Velayudhan Nair, who shot Sookshmadarshini, manages cinematography. (mkr)
