In Pilibhit, traders and business owners gathered for an exciting awareness event under the Next Generation GST Reform Savings Festival. The program highlighted how recent changes to India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) can make life easier and cheaper for everyone.
Sanjay Singh Gangwar, Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of State for Sugarcane Development and Sugar Mills, joined as the chief guest. Officials from the tax and revenue departments were there too, sharing insights with the crowd of local entrepreneurs.
Ashish Niranjan, Additional Commissioner of State Taxes from Bareilly, broke down the latest GST reforms. He explained how these updates benefit businesses by simplifying operations and help consumers with lower prices on everyday items.
Since the GST rate cuts kicked in on September 22, markets across Uttar Pradesh have come alive. Shoppers are flocking to grocery stores, and the automobile sector is booming—especially sales of cars and tractors, which have jumped significantly.
Minister Gangwar told the group that the government’s goal is straightforward: make doing business simpler and ease the burden on everyday people. “This awareness drive is all about showing traders the perks and steps of these new GST reforms,” he said. “They’ll spark growth in businesses and the overall economy.”
The reforms promise real savings for households as product prices drop. Families could save up to 13 percent on grocery and daily essential bills. If you’re buying a small car, expect to pocket around Rs 70,000 in savings.
Other wins include 7-12 percent off on stationery, clothing, footwear, and medicines. Plus, health and life insurance policies now escape GST entirely, leading to savings of up to 18 percent for policyholders.
These GST changes are already stirring up positive vibes in Uttar Pradesh’s markets, helping both traders and shoppers thrive.
