Trump awards medals to Kennedy Center Honorees Gene Simmons, George Strait, Gloria Gaynor and more in star-studded ceremony
On Saturday, President Trump stepped into the Oval Office to hand out medals to this year’s Kennedy Center Honorees, surrounded by a star‑filled roster of the nation’s most “acclaimed and renowned performers.” Dressed in a tuxedo, he presented gold‑and‑navy medallions to actor Sylvester Stallone, singers Gloria Gaynor and George Strait, actor‑singer Michael Crawford, and the members of rock band KISS. Trump remarked that this group might be “the most accomplished and renowned class of Kennedy Center Honorees ever assembled.” Each medal was newly designed and donated by Tiffany & Co., adding a touch of sparkle to the ceremony. The 48th Kennedy Center Honors will take place Sunday evening.
