From Flex to Lit: Boman Irani turns Gen-Z words in Hindi

Veteran actor Boman Irani is bringing some fun to Hindi Diwas by tackling Gen-Z slang in Hindi! In a hilarious Instagram video shared on September 13, the 65-year-old star gives his witty take on trendy words like “flex” and “ghosting.” The clip’s overlay reads, “Boman Irani turns Gen-Z (in Hindi),” and it’s already got fans laughing.

Boman starts with “flex,” replying with “Bhapaoing” – a playful nod to showing off. For “ghosting,” he quips, “High Hindi 1,2 ka 4,” twisting the idea of suddenly disappearing. When asked about “lit,” he says “Jalwa,” meaning something awesome and dazzling. And for “delulu” (delusional), Boman cleverly responds, “is the solulu” – turning confusion into a solution!

In his caption, Boman wrote: “Mujhe diye gaye Gen Z words… aur maine diye unke jawaab Hindi mein. Simple. #HindiDiwas.” It’s a lighthearted way to celebrate the language, making Hindi feel fresh and relatable for younger crowds.

Hindi Diwas falls on September 14 every year, marking the historic moment in 1949 when India’s Constituent Assembly chose Hindi in Devanagari script as the official Union language. Events across the country highlight its cultural importance, and Boman’s video fits right in with the festive vibe.

Just a week earlier, on September 7, Boman visited the famous Bhau Rangari Ganeshji in Pune. He shared photos on Instagram, noting, “My visit to Bhau Rangari Ganeshji in Pune… They say this was the very first public Ganpati, started during the British era.” The actor, known for his versatile roles, keeps connecting with fans through these personal moments.

On the work front, Boman recently starred in Anupam Kher’s drama “Tanvi The Great.” The film tells the inspiring story of Tanvi Raina, a 21-year-old on the autism spectrum, living with her mother Vidya and grandfather Colonel Pratap Raina. Driven by her late father Captain Samar Raina’s dream to salute the flag at Siachen Glacier, Tanvi sets out to join the Indian Army and honor his legacy. It’s a touching tale of determination and family bonds.

Looking ahead, Boman is set to appear in the upcoming Telugu horror-comedy “The RajaSaab” alongside Prabhas. Fans can’t wait to see what he brings to this big project!
