Northern Railway cancels phase-in of train services due to heavy rain in Jammu

Jammu, India – Heavy rains have shut down a key phase of train services in the Jammu Division of Northern Railway. The closure, announced on Monday, was prompted by flooding that damaged tracks and bridges.
The railway’s fifth restoration phase was meant to bring trains back to normal for the upcoming festival season. Unfortunately, the weather forced a pause.
Trains that will resume service
- Jammu Tawi–New Delhi – starts again on Oct. 16, 2025
- Jammu Tawi–Nanded – starts Oct. 19, 2025
- Jammu Tawi–Pune – starts Oct. 17, 2025
- Jammu Tawi–Tatanagar – starts Oct. 18, 2025
- Jammu Tawi–Sambalpur – starts Oct. 19, 2025
- Pathankot–Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan – starts Oct. 15, 2025
- Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan–Pathankot – starts Oct. 15, 2025
Short‑terminated and short‑originated services
- Jammu Tawi–Bandra Terminus now starts at Ludhiana
- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Sabarmati BG now starts at Amritsar
- Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan–Kota now starts at Ludhiana
- Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan–Indore now starts at Jalandhar Cantt
- Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan–Durg now starts at Ambala Cantt
Northern Railway chief Uchit Singhal said repairs are underway to fix damaged tracks and bridges. He urged passengers to double‑check train times before traveling.
