“Special”: Manoj Muntashir on conducting ‘Mera Desh Pehle: The Untold Story Of PM Narendra Modi’ musical saga in Gujarat

Manoj Muntashir, the famous Indian lyricist and poet, staged a musical show called Mera Desh Pahle: The Untold Story of Narendra Modi in Gujarat’s Gift City on Friday. The program tells the life story of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from his early days in the small town of Naru to the head of India’s government today.
The show was organised by Muntashir himself, who told reporters that it’s the first time he’s sharing Modi’s journey in front of a live audience. “I’m telling the story of PM Modi to the people who saw a little Naru turn into the Prime Minister,” he said, adding that the whole India‑wide tour feels special. “The roadmap for 2047 is very clear – we’re on track to become a superpower.”
The event drew a big crowd in Gandhinagar. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar also came to the show, giving a memorable performance of the patriotic song “Teri Mitti” from his film Kesari. He sang with deep emotion, even holding the Indian flag close to his chest, which moved the audience and added a stirring patriotic moment to the evening.
Earlier in the week, the same musical drama was screened at the Urja Auditorium in Patna, Bihar. Bihar minister Neeraj Kumar Singh travelled about 300 km to watch it and said he was thrilled. “If a film is made on PM Modi’s life, we want to see it,” Singh told . “He works day and night for the country. His story is inspiring.”
The show is part of a growing trend of musical and cultural programs that celebrate India’s political leaders. With many fans flocking to see it, Mera Desh Pahle is already stirring interest across the country and setting the stage for more such productions that bring India’s leaders’ stories to life in an accessible, entertaining way.
