The Assam Rifles team, part of the Indian Army’s Spear Corps, stopped an active member of the banned People’s Liberation Army (PLA) on 15 Nov 2025 in Yaripok Bazar, Thoubal, Manipur. The suspect was seized with a smartphone and SIM card, then handed over to the local police for further questioning.
That same day, the Spear Corps launched an educational tour called the Seemadarshan Tour. Students and teachers from Don Bosco College in Maram, Manipur, travelled to Arunachal Pradesh. The group visited key sites, including the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School, and toured the region’s culture and history.
Earlier this month, the Red Shield Division’s National Integration Tour finished in Chennai. Participants met Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi, toured the Officers Training Academy, explored Egmore Museum, and relaxed on Marina Beach, soaking up the city’s heritage.
The Spear Corps also kicked off the first-ever Territorial Army recruitment rally in Noney, Manipur. The event sought to spread career awareness among local youth and encourage them to join national service.
On Thursday, the Assam Rifles carried out a full pre‑medical, document, and physical assessment in Mon District, Nagaland. The screening helped youths prepare for the 164 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) recruitment rally scheduled from 15 Nov to 24 Nov at Zakhama Military Station in Kohima. The initiative aims to ensure candidates meet all required standards.
