Mumbai, Nov 7 – Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap spilled the beans about a surprise meeting with cricket legend Rahul Dravid while travelling in a commercial flight. Kashyap, a longtime admirer of the former Indian captain, posted a photo on Instagram, captioning it “Met my hero on a flight @rahuldravidofficial.” The director’s wide grin in the picture shows how thrilled he was to finally meet his idol in person.
The Punjabi‑talking filmmaker is also buzzing fans with his upcoming action film “Dacoit.” In the story, Kashyap plays Inspector Swamy, a tough officer who fights corruption while following the teachings of Lord Ayyappa. The film stars Adivi Sesh and actress Mrunal Thakur. “Dacoit,” originally slated for a Dec 25 release, will now open worldwide on March 19, 2026.
Kashyap’s career includes landmark hits like “Black Friday,” “Paanch,” and the multi‑Oscar‑nominated “Gangs of Wasseypur.” However, his latest venture “Nishaanchi” failed to make a splash at the box office. Earlier this year, Kashyap got into hot water over a crude remark about the Brahmin community while defending his biopic “Phule.” The comment sparked backlash, legal action, and vile online threats against his daughter. The director later apologized on Instagram, promising to watch his words more carefully.
Fans can watch “Dacoit” when it hits screens worldwide in 2026 and keep an eye on Anurag Kashyap, who continues to be a polarizing but influential figure in Indian cinema.
