Karisma Kapoor’s kids file property claim lawsuit accusing father’s third wife of will tempering

Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor’s kids, Samaira and Kiaan, are fighting for their rightful share in their late father Sunjay Kapur’s massive property empire. The siblings have approached the Delhi High Court, accusing Sunjay’s third wife, Priya Kapur, of messing with his will to claim everything for herself. This high-stakes family battle over a whopping Rs 30,000 crore inheritance is making headlines, with the children demanding one-fifth of the assets each as legal heirs.
Sunjay Kapur, the prominent industrialist who passed away at just 53 from a heart attack while playing polo in the UK, left behind a fortune that’s now at the center of this dispute. The kids, through their lawyers, say Priya is trying to fake the will and kick them out of the family properties. The controversial will, dated March 21, 2025, supposedly hands over all personal assets to Priya, but Samaira and Kiaan aren’t buying it. They’re challenging its authenticity in court, claiming it’s a ploy to grab the entire inheritance.
What makes their case even stronger? The siblings shared a close bond with their dad right up to the end. They stayed in touch through regular meetups, weekend getaways, holidays, video calls, voice chats, and messages—often in dedicated WhatsApp groups just for the family. Samaira and Kiaan frequently visited Sunjay at his Rajokri House in Delhi, where they even have their own rooms. They’d head there for Diwali celebrations, weekends, and other special times. Sunjay also made trips to their Mumbai home, where the kids have lived since around 2009 after their parents’ divorce.
It gets more personal: When Samaira started university in the US, she and her dad kept the connection alive. She’d meet him in New York, and he’d visit her in Boston multiple times. “These visits show how involved we were in each other’s lives,” their petition highlights, painting a picture of a loving father-daughter and father-son relationship despite the family’s ups and downs.
For context, Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur tied the knot in 2003 and welcomed Samaira and Kiaan during their 13-year marriage, which ended in divorce in 2016. Sunjay later married Priya, but now his first kids are stepping up to protect their legacy. As the Delhi High Court case unfolds, all eyes are on whether this Bollywood-industrialist family feud will rewrite the rules on inheritance disputes in India. Stay tuned for updates on this gripping property battle.
