A family in Meerut is demanding justice after their son, Mohsin, was killed in a car‑bomb attack near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 11. Mohsin, a 35‑year‑old e‑rickshaw driver, and his wife and two children had moved to Delhi two years earlier to earn a living.
Mohsin’s children, who heard the news while in Ahmedabad, told reporters that they want the perpetrators punished. “Punish those responsible,” said his son, and his daughter echoed the same plea.
The family’s brother‑in‑law described how they waited hours for news, finally hearing that the post‑mortem had finished at 5 a.m. Despite government announcements, no help has reached the family, who still live in a rented house in Delhi. Mohsin’s younger brother Nadim added that the body was badly burned and the father had hidden behind a concrete wall during the blast. Mohsin’s wife and children remain in the rented home, struggling to cope without support.
An officer eventually answered on the family’s phone and said Mohsin was at the Red Fort police station, raising fears that he might have been caught in the explosion. The family was told to move to LNJP Hospital, but security was tight and information scarce.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited LNJP Hospital on Wednesday to meet the injured survivors of the Red Fort blast. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) he said, “Went to LNJP Hospital and met those injured during the blast in Delhi. Praying for everyone’s quick recovery. Those behind the conspiracy will be brought to justice.”
The family’s pleas highlight the continuing demand for accountability after the deadly Red Fort bombing that left multiple victims and shocked the nation.
