In the final round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, Indian‑American golfer Sahith Theegala shot a solid 70, moving from tied‑46th to a tighter tied‑39th spot as the 2025 fall season closes.
Theegala, who opened the tournament on the tenth tee, started the day with birdies on wedges 10 and 14. He slipped a shot on 15 but bounced back on 17, and hit another birdie on the par‑3 in the back‑nine. A penalty on the fourth hole turned into a triple bogey, however, offsetting some of his gains. He finished the round 3‑under 70, which places him 2‑under for the tournament as a whole.
Across the links, Adam Schenk kept his composure, recording a bogey‑free 67 for 4‑under. Schenk’s score ties him for the lead with rookie Braden Thornberry, who played a 69 to share 12‑under after the first three days.
Both Schenk and Thornberry are among 10 leading players who are ranked outside the top 100 in the FedEx Cup. They will face fresh pressure next week at the RSM Classic on Sea Island, where the season’s longest event offers FedEx Cup cards to the top 100 finishers instead of the usual top 125.
The group just one stroke back included Adam Hadwin, who led after 36 holes and finished the day with a 71, tying for third. Other contenders were Max McGreevy (69), Chandler Phillips (70), and Japan’s Takumi Kanaya (66). Japanese player Rikuya Hoshino posted a 67 and sits two strokes behind the leaders.
The Butterfield Bermuda Championship witnessed strong performances under windy conditions, setting the stage for the decisive finish of the fall golf season.
