Prakash Parv: Nitish Kumar pays obeisance at Patna Sahib Gurdwara; reviews key development projects

In Patna, December 27, state leaders gathered to mark the 359th anniversary of Prakash Parv when Chief Minister Nitish Kumar paid a special visit to the Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib Gurdwara.
During the ceremony, Kumar bent his head in reverence, offered prayers for the safety, prosperity, and welfare of Bihar, and asked for the guru’s blessings to sustain the state’s progress. In attendance were Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, JDU working president Sanjay Jha, and Minister Ashok Chaudhary, among other officials.
The gurdwara’s Management Committee welcomed the leaders with a traditional “siropa.” Kumar then entered the sanctum to pray beside the shrine of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, whose birthplace in Patna in 1666 made the site one of Sikhism’s five sacred Takhts. The Gurudwara draws millions of visitors each year, as the Guru’s founding of the Khalsa Panth shaped the community’s identity.
After the prayerful visit, the Chief Minister inspected a tunnel that is being built to link the Bihar Museum with the nearby Patna Museum. Officials briefed him on the construction status and urged that work be finished as quickly and efficiently as possible, noting that the tunnel will make it easier for museum-goers to move between exhibits.
Kumar also toured the Bihar Museum, where he reviewed various galleries and inquired about visitor amenities. He then visited the Officers’ Campus redevelopment site, where officials explained that the new multi‑story residential complex would greatly improve accommodation for state officers.
The chief minister underscored the need for timely completion and high‑quality execution of all ongoing projects, reinforcing the government’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage while advancing infrastructure across the state.
