Early Friday morning, gunshots rang out outside the Bareilly home linked to Bollywood actress Disha Patani, but luckily, no one got hurt. The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. at Villa No. 40 in Civil Lines, where Disha’s family lives. Local police are treating it as a targeted attack, and they’ve ramped up security at the spot.

Reports point to the Rohit Goldy Brar group claiming responsibility. They say the firing was revenge for comments that insulted Hindu spiritual leaders Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. A Hindi social media post from two men—Virendra Charan and Mahendra Saran from Delana—took full credit. In the chilling message, they wrote: "Jai Shri Ram. Brothers, we did the shooting at Khushboo Patani/Disha Patani’s house in Bareilly. She insulted our revered saints Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj and tried to demean our Sanatan Dharma. We won’t tolerate insults to our deities. This was just a trailer—if she or anyone disrespects our religion again, no one in their house will be left alive. This warning goes to all film industry artists and their associates. We’re ready to do anything to protect our faith."

The trigger seems to stem from Disha’s younger sister, Khushboo Patani, who earlier slammed Aniruddhacharya Maharaj’s views on women in live-in relationships. Khushboo later clarified that her criticism wasn’t aimed at Premanand Maharaj, but the attackers lumped the two together anyway.

Bareilly Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya shared details with the media. "We got a tip about two unidentified men on a motorcycle firing at the residence of retired CO Jagdish Patani—Disha’s father. Our city SP team, Special Operations Group, and surveillance units rushed to the scene. We’ve confirmed the incident and filed an FIR under serious charges at Kotwali police station based on a complaint."
