Patna Pirates pulled off an incredible comeback to beat Dabang Delhi K.C. 33-30 in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 match at Jaipur’s SMS Indoor Stadium on Saturday. Substitute raider Ankit Rana starred with 12 points, sparking a stunning fourth-quarter rally that snapped the Season 8 champions’ winning streak.
Dabang Delhi started strong in the first 10 minutes. Neeraj Narwal and Ajinkya Pawar led the charge with smart raids and a key Do-Or-Die raid from Pawar. Defenders Fazel Atrachali and Saurabh Nandal locked down Patna’s attackers, building a solid four-point lead.
Patna Pirates hung tough, though. Ayan and Sudhakar grabbed raid points to stay in the game, while Navdeep and Ankit’s tackles kept things close. But Dabang Delhi held firm at the 10-minute mark.
In the second quarter, Neeraj Narwal kept dominating, hitting six points by halftime and exposing Patna’s defense. Ajinkya Pawar and Ashu Malik added raids, and Surjeet Singh chipped in with tackles. Ankit’s Super Tackle gave Patna a brief spark, but it couldn’t stop Dabang Delhi. They sealed the half with an All Out, leading 19-10.
Patna showed real fight in the third quarter as the three-time champions clawed back. Ayan drove the raids, pressuring Delhi’s backline. Ankit Rana jumped in as a substitute and started piling on points against tough defenders like Fazel.
Skipper Ankit Jaglan anchored the defense with big tackles, backed by Navdeep. Neeraj and Ajinkya still scored for Delhi, but Patna’s momentum built steadily.
The fourth quarter belonged to Patna Pirates. Ankit Rana exploded with raid points, including a game-changing All Out. Skipper Ankit Jaglan’s tackles disrupted Delhi’s flow, flipping the script completely.
Despite pushes from Neeraj Narwal and Ashu Malik, Dabang Delhi couldn’t keep up. Patna scored 16 points in those final 10 minutes to Delhi’s five, clinching the thrilling 33-30 victory in this PKL Season 12 clash.
