Haryana CM Saini visits areas hit by waterlogging, assures all help

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Visits Rain-Hit Fatehabad, Promises Quick Help for Flood-Affected Farmers and Families

Chandigarh, Sep 7: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stepped into action on Sunday, heading straight to the rain-soaked areas of Fatehabad district. Heavy rains have caused major waterlogging here, and he wanted to see the damage up close. During his visit, Saini chatted with locals and farmers, checked the ground situation, and promised full government support to get everyone back on their feet.

Farmers hit hard by the floods got some big reassurances from the CM. He made it clear that the Haryana government will provide proper compensation for crop losses due to heavy rainfall. To make things easier, they’ve opened the e-Kshatipurti portal where farmers can report their damaged crops online. Already, reports of losses over 1.70 lakh acres have poured in. Saini assured that the compensation money will reach farmers’ accounts soon, showing that the state stands strong with them during this tough time.

It’s not just farmers—the CM also focused on families whose homes took a beating from the rains. Many houses and roofs got damaged, and Saini directed the Deputy Commissioner to quickly list all affected spots and release relief funds without delay. He highlighted a recent boost: just a month ago, Rs 78.50 crore went out under the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Awas Yojana scheme. Families can apply right away and get immediate help to repair their homes. "No family will be left out," Saini said, vowing prompt assistance for everyone impacted by the waterlogging in Haryana.

Saini’s support doesn’t stop at Haryana borders. The state is pitching in for flood victims in neighboring Punjab and Himachal Pradesh too. So far, Haryana has sent more than 80 trucks packed with relief materials. On Sunday itself, another 25 trucks rolled out—10 to Himachal Pradesh and 15 to Punjab. The CM praised top leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP national president J.P. Nadda for keeping a close watch and offering full cooperation in these flood relief efforts.

Looking back at the government’s track record, Saini pointed out the massive push for housing in Haryana. Over the last 10 and a half years, Rs 2,314 crore has flowed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for rural and urban homes. Plus, Rs 416 crore came through the Ambedkar Housing Renovation Scheme. Recently, the state even handed out Rs 88.50 crore to farmers facing crop damage from heavy rains.

The CM didn’t shy away from the bigger picture. He admitted that severe waterlogging has gripped low-lying areas across Haryana due to relentless downpours. While touring the spots, he ordered officials to ramp up drainage work and speed up relief operations. But Saini went further, assuring residents that the government is now focusing on long-term fixes to prevent such flood woes in the future. With these steps, Haryana aims to turn the tide on rain-induced problems for good.
