2 killed after bus accident in Russia’s Belgorod

Police in Russia’s Belgorod region confirmed that a bus disaster killed two people and left six others hurt after the vehicle lost control on a federal highway near the village of Malobykovo early Sunday morning. The bus, carrying workers, met a grain truck as it tried to pass. Both vehicles spun off the road, the bus slammed into trees, and the truck tipped over.

The incident happened at about 7:15 a.m. Moscow time. The bus’s driver and one passenger died right at the crash site. Six more passengers were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. Investigators are still looking into exactly what caused the loss of control.

This accident follows a string of serious road crashes in Russia this week. Earlier, a passenger minibus on the R‑243 road in the Perm region collided with a truck, killing seven people and injuring 15. A minor was among the casualties, and authorities have opened a criminal case. In the Tuva Republic, a car crash on the R‑257 highway on November 6 left five dead and five wounded.

Transport officials say these incidents stress the need for safer driving and better enforcement of road rules across the country. For the most current updates on road safety and accident investigations, stay tuned to our coverage.
