After whirlwind political engagements in poll-bound Bihar, PM Modi prays at Patna Sahib Gurdwara

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up a busy day in Bihar on Sunday, ending with a visit to the revered Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib in Patna. The Sikh temple, the fifth Takht of Sikhism and the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, is a key stop for faith‑leaders and politicians alike.

Modi posted photos from the visit on X, calling it “a very divine experience.” “The noble teachings of the Sikh Gurus motivate all of humanity,” he wrote. “Guru Gobind Singh’s courage and commitment to justice inspire us all.” The prime minister’s message came amid a larger campaign to rally support for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) before the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Earlier, Modi led a colourful roadshow through Patna, passing landmarks such as Dinkar Golambar, Nala Road, Bari Path and Thakurbadi Road. Thousands lined the streets to greet him in a flower‑decorated car, chanting slogans and cheering. The tour was designed to boost NDA candidates in the state’s high‑stakes election.

While in Arrah, Modi highlighted the “double‑engine government” of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying it would help realize the “Make in India” vision for Bihar. He promised that the state would become a hub for this global production push. He also praised Bihar’s rise from a fish‑importing region to a major supplier of fish to other parts of India, crediting NDA’s pro‑development policies.

The prime minister stressed that the NDA’s manifesto focuses on empowerment and rapid growth for Bihar. “Every promise and plan is dedicated to the state’s progress,” he said.

In a sharp rebuttal to opponents, Modi slammed the Mahagathbandhan—a coalition that includes the Congress and RJD—as fraught with infighting and deceit. He accused the alliance of turning its manifesto into a “document of lies.” He pointed out internal divisions within the coalition over who will lead Bihar in the 2025 Assembly polls.

Modi’s visit to the Gurudwara, coupled with his rallying speeches, underscores his strategy to combine religious outreach with political messaging as Bihar heads into its crucial election day.
