India’s Election Commission released the final voter list for Bihar on Tuesday, wrapping up a major revision process ahead of upcoming elections. The updated list now includes 7.42 crore voters, a jump from the 7.24 crore in the draft published on August 1, 2025. Officials added 21.53 lakh new voters while removing 3.66 lakh names, mainly due to duplicates, deaths, or people moving away.
RJD spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan shared that his party won’t comment officially until they double-check the list. “District election officers handed copies to our local party leaders across Bihar,” Gagan said. “We’ll verify everything through our block-level agents, booth workers, and panchayat teams before responding.”
Gagan also warned that if genuine voters are missing, the RJD plans to fix it using a process ordered by the Supreme Court. “We’re thankful to the Supreme Court for stepping in and stopping any big plot to delete real names or add fake ones,” he added. The party is ready to head back to court if needed, even after this release.
On the other side, JDU leader Neeraj Kumar hit back at opposition figures like Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav. They had accused the Election Commission of India of “vote chori” during the revision. “The ECI is a key constitutional body,” Kumar said. “Now, with over 18 lakh more voters added, this final list is a strong rebuke to their claims. They’ve gone quiet.”
Bihar residents can easily check their voter details on the official ECI website at voters.eci.gov.in. If you’re not on the list or need updates, the Commission lets you submit fresh applications for adding names, making corrections, or changing addresses right away. This keeps the Bihar voter list accurate for fair elections.
