Mumbai, Oct 25 – R. Madhavan, the heartthrob who dazzled fans in the 2003 hit Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, is once again turning heads on social media. The actor shared a crisp, clean‑shaven image from his upcoming biopic, G.D.N., on Instagram Saturday. In his caption he wrote, “Another day… another look… Life on set goes on. So very blessed and grateful to have the most extraordinary cast, crew and wonderful producers. #GDN”.
The film celebrates the pioneering Indian engineer and industrialist Gopalaswamy Doraiswamy Naidu—known as the “Edison of India.” Naidu hailed from Coimbatore and turned borrowed technology into affordable, locally built solutions. His legacy includes India’s first indigenous electric motor, and a range of everyday gadgets from razors to petrol engines. The biopic, directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, highlights Naidu’s blend of tinkering, entrepreneurship, and vocational education that helped shape Tamil Nadu’s manufacturing base.
Varghese Moolan Pictures and Tricolour Films back the project, with reports placing Madhavan and his wife Sarita on the production team. Govind Vasantha is set to deliver the soundtrack. Priyamani, Yogi Babu and Jayaram star in key roles, bringing depth to Naidu’s story.
Madhavan’s latest featuring role appears in the streaming film Aap Jaisa Koi, directed by Vivek Soni and produced by Dharmatic Entertainment. The romance follows Shrirenu, a 42‑year‑old Sanskrit professor in Jamshedpur, whose life shifts when he meets Madhu, a free‑spirited French teacher from Kolkata. The film tackles age differences, cultural expectations, and societal norms through this unconventional love story.
With a new dramatic chapter and a nostalgic cameo in Aap Jaisa Koi, Madhavan remains a versatile talent in Indian cinema, engaging audiences across generations.
